Maureen Obituary, Cause of Death - Kids Konnect Founder and Champion for Children Remembered
The Kids Konnect community is mourning the passing of Maureen, the charity’s founder, leader, inspiration and longtime champion for children. Her death has left family, friends, colleagues, volunteers and the many people whose lives she touched facing a profound loss.
Maureen was remembered as a larger-than-life presence with an even bigger heart. She devoted her life to supporting children and families, particularly those facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances. Her generosity was reflected in the simple ways she helped people, including giving whatever she could to ensure someone had what they needed.
In 1994, Maureen founded Kids Konnect with a vision of supporting disabled, terminally ill and disadvantaged children. Over the years, that vision grew into an organization that touched thousands of lives.
Through her dedication, children who might never have imagined experiencing safety, happiness, excitement and hope were given opportunities to do so. Many of those children have since grown into adults while continuing to carry the impact of Maureen’s compassion, determination and belief in them.
Her passion and commitment helped shape Kids Konnect into the charity it is today. Although she is no longer there to lead the organization herself, her legacy continues through every child, family and adult she supported throughout her life.
Maureen Funeral Arrangements
With the blessing of Maureen’s family, Kids Konnect has announced details of her funeral.
Her funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. on September 2, 2026, at Springwood Cemetery, Springwood Avenue, Liverpool, L25 7UN. A gathering will follow at St Mark’s in Halewood.
The family has requested family flowers only. Those wishing to honor Maureen’s memory may instead make donations to Kids Konnect.
Her family, friends and the wider Kids Konnect community are now preparing to say goodbye to a woman whose life's work centered on helping others.
Remembering Maureen
Maureen’s impact cannot be measured simply by the number of years she spent leading Kids Konnect. Her influence lives on through the people she encouraged, supported and helped during some of their most difficult moments.
She believed children deserved opportunities to experience joy, dignity and hope regardless of the challenges they faced. Her determination to make a difference became the foundation of her life's work.
The charity described her as a person who was relentless in making sure people were okay and had what they needed. That commitment became one of the defining characteristics of the legacy she leaves behind.
As those closest to Maureen grieve, they are also holding onto the countless memories created throughout her life.
A message shared by Kids Konnect reflected on the nature of grief, describing it as something that may initially seem impossible to escape but gradually becomes quieter. Memories, photographs, songs and familiar reminders can eventually bring warmth alongside the sadness.
