Callan Clancy Obituary, Cause of Death - Duxbury Children Remembered
The Clancy family and the Duxbury, Massachusetts, community continue to remember Cora Clancy, Dawson Clancy, and infant Callan Clancy, three young siblings whose deaths in January 2023 brought profound grief to their family and widespread sorrow to the community.
Cora was 5 years old, Dawson was 3, and Callan was just 8 months old. Their lives were tragically cut short, leaving their parents, relatives, friends and members of the wider community devastated.
The siblings were laid to rest together following a joint funeral service held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate, Massachusetts.
Remembering Cora Clancy
Cora Clancy, 5, was the oldest of the three children. She was remembered by her family as a beloved daughter and sister whose young life was filled with the everyday experiences, relationships and moments that made her deeply cherished.
Her death alongside her two younger brothers created an immeasurable loss for the family. Those who knew Cora continue to remember her for the place she held within her family rather than solely for the circumstances surrounding her death.
Remembering Dawson Clancy
Dawson Clancy, 3, was Cora's younger brother. His life was tragically short, but he was deeply loved by his parents and siblings.
Personal memories shared by his family helped portray Dawson as an individual child with his own personality and place within the family. His loved ones continue to carry those memories as they mourn his loss.
Remembering Callan Clancy
Callan Clancy was 8 months old when he died.
As the youngest of the three siblings, Callan's passing added another devastating dimension to the family's grief. Although his life lasted only a few months, he was profoundly loved and cherished by his parents, siblings and extended family.
Cora, Dawson and Callan were remembered together during the February 2023 funeral, giving loved ones an opportunity to honor the three children and support one another through an unimaginable loss.
Cora, Dawson and Callan's Funeral Service
The joint funeral service for the siblings took place at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate on February 3, 2023.
Their father, Patrick Clancy, prepared personal tributes for each of his children. The eulogy was read during the service by Reverend Bob Deehan and focused on the individual personalities, qualities and happiness the children brought into their family.
The remembrance allowed those gathered to honor Cora, Dawson and Callan as children who were loved and treasured, rather than allowing the tragedy of their deaths to become the only story remembered about them.
Remembering Three Beloved Children
The deaths of Cora, Dawson and Callan left an enduring wound for their family and the Duxbury community. Their lives were tragically brief, but the love their family had for them and the memories they created remain.
The joint service provided an opportunity for family, friends, clergy and community members to come together in remembrance and offer support to those grieving.
Cora, Dawson and Callan will continue to be remembered through the memories held by the people who loved them.
May Cora Clancy, Dawson Clancy and Callan Clancy rest in peace. May their family continue to find strength and comfort in the love and precious memories they shared with these three beloved children.
